After hours of experimentation, I refined the controls of ACC: China to better utilize the Steam controller's criminally-ignored features. Seriously, most of the configs on here are still using a button press to activate sprint, when you can just do that by holding the left stick all the way to the edge of its movement radius. It's so much easier that way, and it feels fantastic. I also tweaked the aiming reticule for fireworks and smoke grenades to feel very intuitive, and not awkward to fumble with, which can affect your immersion.
